I'm a sucker for jewellery and accessories, even more so I sniff out a hint of inspiration from Arabia or Africa.
So I decided to unearth just SOME of my jewellery collection to share with you. A lot of the pieces won't be found on the high street anymore, but it's been such a prominent trend for a while now there's no doubt you too will be able to find your little MENA inspired treasures too.
The necklaces with coins are heavily influenced by berber culture, and although I don't necessarily agree with the theory, historically and traditionally jewellery has carried a symbolic and magical meaning, as they are used as charms to protect against evil spooks.
The Berber women were pretty hot on handing down their prized possessions from mother to daughter, and while mine aren't valuable - sorry New Look, Topshop and co, I think my little girl will thank me for putting a few 'vintage' (well... by the time she grows up) pieces to one side for her! How many times have you argued with you mum for not keeping that 'AMAZING DRESS'? Yes, me too. And I don't want to get told off when my little madame is older.
It's about time I add some more to my ever growing collection, I think.
