EVENT// I AM NASRINE BY TINA GHARAVI & JAMES RICHARD BAILLIE

I Am Nasrine is a 2012 BAFTA nominated film which is coming to our screens on Saturday 9th Feb 2013 at 2:45.

REVIEW// AWARD WINNING MOROCCAN FILM: MAJID

I wrote about this event a while ago and despite the snow I wouldn't miss this opportunity to support Nassim Abassi or the fact that 100% of the money went directly to charity, so I ventured out into arctic conditions. Slightly dramatic I know.

QUOTE// A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS

"As for Mariam, she remembers Nana saying once that each snowflake is a sigh heaved by an aggrieved woman somewhere in the world. That all sighs drift up to the sky, gather into clouds, then break into tiny pieces that fall silently on the people below. “As a reminder of how women like us suffer,” she said. How quietly we endure all the falls upon us.”

HIGH STREET SOUK EDITION ~ EARRINGS AND RINGS

Eye have been watching you, watching me.

This is the second instalment of the High Street Souk edition, and today I am going to focus on earrings and rings.

New Look: Crystal and Gold Triangle Eye Drop Earring £4.99
I can't say I would wear these myself, but for the sake of the theme I have included these in the listing. These crystal drop earring contain an eye stone centre. The more I stare at them the more they scare me!

New Look: Gold Hamsa Hand Turquiose Stone Earrings £1.99
I like that these are a more subtle, I would wear these. They look quite rustic and handmade. A bargain at £1.99. It's almost like it could have been purchased from a souk in the MENA itself.

River Island: Gold Tone Talisman Hand Cuff Ear £4.00
I looooove this so much. I've been looking for it instore but I've had no joy just yet. A different take on the stylish ear cuff which has been really popular this year. Personally I'm not a fan of the big 'winged' ear cuff as these can make you look like an Elf, and they're just too over the top. This is a dainty, stylish understated way of expressing your inner MENA style.

Accessorize: Egyptian Square Stud Earrings £6.00

These large statement studs would look good day or night, with your hair up or down making them a versatile piece with hints of MENA with its turquoise stone set in the middle of the egyptian inspired metalwork.

Now I am not a huge ring person, but I've picked my favourite two below...
ASOS: Limited Edition Eye Stone Ring £8.00

Topshop: Scandi Eye Ring was £10.00 now £5.00
By the time I got round to posting this, it sold out. Damn! I really like this one.

Keep your eyes peeled *no pun intended* as I continue to post these...

Thanks for reading!
